Australian fighter Jack Jenkins was hospitalised and spent time in intensive care after his devastating UFC loss on home soil last weekend.
The 31-year-old was choked out by Brazil’s Gabriel Santos in the third round of their featherweight bout in what was a mixed day for the local hopes in Sydney.
Jenkins (13-4) had some nice moments early in the fight, but was outclassed by Santos in what was his second loss since joining the UFC.

According to MMA Fighting, Jenkins fractured cartilage in his thyroid, which caused an air leak in his chest and neck.
Jenkins was kept under close supervision in hospital before being released from intensive care on Monday.
His team believes the injury occurred at the end of the first round.
Jenkins will likely be out of action for a number of months.
