Dalton Knecht’s fantastic rookie season got even crazier on Friday night, when his Rising Stars team won their mini-All-Star competition.
That means Knecht and his teammates, featuring Ryan Dunn, Stephon Castle, Zach Edey, and others, will now face off against some of the biggest names in the NBA.
Following his team’s victory, Knecht spoke with the press about what’s next for him and what he hopes to prove.
“I might play against Bron, right? I get to go against one of my teammates…Will be a lot of fun to try to make a statement,” Knecht said, per Courtside Buzz.

Knecht’s Team C, coached by Chris Mullins, is now set to battle Shaquille O’Neal’s team on Sunday.
That squad features LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, Jaylen Brown, and others.
Knecht said he wants to make a statement during Sunday’s game and he most certainly will.
He is already friends with James and has grown close with him over the last few months, but beating him will be a different kind of exciting for the rookie star.
Knecht has already made a statement this season with his average of 9.4 points and 3.0 rebounds on 46.4 percent from the field.
Things got complicated recently when Knecht was traded to the Charlotte Hornets for Mark Williams.
Of course, that deal fell apart, and Knecht is now back with the Lakers.
In his first game after the botched trade, he scored 10 points.
Some people think he will have a chip on his shoulder for the rest of the season, and he may put some of his energy and aggression into this weekend and make a statement, not only to the Lakers but to the rest of the league.
