We haven’t seen Victor Oladipo play in the NBA since the 2022–23 season, when he was putting up about 10 points a game for the Miami Heat.
Since then, Oladipo has laid low, but he isn’t planning to stay off the radar.
Speaking on his podcast, Oladipo said retirement is not on his horizon.
“I’m not retiring. It’s just not what I’m doing right now… I got a ton left in the tank… I’m training, rehabbing, every day,” Oladipo said, per NBACentral.

It sounds like Oladipo has big plans, but that doesn’t ensure a return to the league.
Injuries have plagued him for years, and it’s the reason he didn’t play at all last season.
During his multiple absences because of physical problems, the NBA has moved on from Oladipo, who is a two-time All-Star and the 2017-18 Most Improved Player of the Year.
During his 10 years on the court, Oladipo has averaged 16.9 points and 4.5 rebounds.
He did big things for the Orlando Magic and Oklahoma City Thunder but gained the most attention during his multiple seasons with the Indiana Pacers, where he averaged 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
He was once seen as one of the best guards in the league, but the injuries derailed his career and ultimately led to him missing the majority of multiple seasons.
Oladipo is 32 years old, which means he could still perform in the league for several seasons.
But all teams will be cautious about approaching him due to his history, and he will have to prove a lot in order for him to find a new contract.
He hasn’t given up and sounds driven, but it will take more than just that to return to the league.
