The Los Angeles Lakers got their new franchise star almost by accident.
No one, not even LeBron James, ever thought that they could get Luka Doncic midway through the season, but here we are.
And while it took him a little longer than some anticipated, it now seems like the Slovenian star has officially arrived in Southern California.
At least, that seemed to be the case in the big win over Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
Doncic had his best game as a Laker yet, scoring 32 points to go along with ten rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.

Needless to say, it didn’t take long before the fans took to social media to share their thoughts on this majestic performance.
Luka dropping buckets like it’s Game 5 and he’s got all the clout! 😎 Keep cooking, young Iso king!

“Luka doesn’t play defense” except for the fact that he was one of the league leaders in steals when he went down with injury.

It’s great to see he’s got his smile back. Now can he always get his MVP numbers but the slick Lakers lose every game.

Doncic had been struggling with his health since he sustained a calf injury on Christmas Day.
He hadn’t looked as sharp or explosive in his games with the Lakers.
Of course, plenty of that also had to do with him just staying on the perimeter while LeBron James took the ball up the court and pulled the strings of the offense, as he’s not used to playing that kind of role.
That’s why it was so refreshing to see him being way more aggressive, asking for the ball, talking trash to his opponents and whatnot.
It was a matter of time before he got settled in and played like he usually plays.
The Lakers still aren’t a championship-caliber team, but this Doncic is still a scary thought for the rest of the league.
