NBA Is Reportedly Mulling Another Change To All-Star Format

The NBA All-Star Game once again received some bad reviews from fans this year, and the league has heard them all.

Therefore, more changes are on the horizon.

According to a new report from Sports Business Journal, the league is already envisioning tweaks to make next year’s game better.

It will reportedly follow the same mini-tournament format, with a twist.

“The change would be two teams of US-born All-Stars, a team of international All-Stars and then a fourth team made up of All-Star snubs,” the report said, per Legion Hoops.

With the new format, the four teams would include American stars, foreign-born athletes, international All-Stars, and then people who missed the chance to play when they didn’t gain enough votes.

That final team might be the most exciting because every year there are stars who don’t make the cut, and a lot of headlines and opinions are generated because of that.

Is this new setup the key to success for the All-Star Game?

There were so many complaints about the event that the NBA will need to change more than just this.

People didn’t like the number of commercials, the inclusion of Kevin Hart, the pacing, and so much more.

So if the league thinks just making this change will please everyone, they are wrong.

This might be the first step in the right direction, but Adam Silver and his staff will have to dream up more ideas if they want to win people over and return the All-Star Game to its former glory.

The league hasn’t made an official announcement about any of this, but they might soon.
