Blue Jays give update on Santander, Loperfido

The Toronto Blue Jays expect to have two important outfielders back in spring training action by the end of the week.

Santander has been away from the team dealing with a visa issue in the Dominican Republic, but is expected to return to Florida in time to take part in workouts on Thursday, the manager said.

Loperfido was injured when he collided with the wall while trying to make a catch in Tuesday’s game against the Cardinals. He was removed from the game but has no concussion symptoms, Schneider said. Loperfido is expected to resume his workouts on Thursday.

Both players could return to spring training action on Friday when the Blue Jays play the Tigers and Yankees in split-squad action.
