Luka Doncic’s first clash with the Dallas Mavericks did not exactly begin as planned.
The newly acquired Los Angeles Lakers star was driving to the paint just three minutes into the contest when he drew some heavy contact.
No call was made, and Doncic, who immediately voiced his displeasure towards the officials, was handed a technical foul for his outburst.
The Lakers, however, were not fazed, and capped the first quarter off leading 28-20 while Doncic picked up nine points, seven rebounds and six assists in the opening frame.
Six of those points included back-to-back triples, which he finished with a stare towards his former team’s bench.
The Lakers currently sit fifth in the Western Conference with a 34-21 record, while the Mavericks hold down the eighth spot at 31-27.
