On Monday, it was reported that Naz Reid may decline his $15 million player option this summer, which means he could be a free agent and contemplate leaving the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Reid is a great talent, so plenty of teams would leap at the chance to sign him.
But which squad has the best shot of getting Reid?
According to Bovada, per NBACentral, if Reid doesn’t remain with the Timberwolves, then the San Antonio Spurs are the favorites to acquire him.
The Spurs have +400 odds, followed by the Cleveland Cavaliers with +700, the Dallas Mavericks with +700, and the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, and New Orleans Pelicans with +1500.
Is Reid leaving the Timberwolves, and would he really head to the Spurs?

The concept of Reid playing alongside Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox definitely does sound very attractive to Spurs fans, but that doesn’t mean it’s a done deal.
There will be a lot of teams attempting to woo Reid because he has been such a strong player for Minnesota.
The reigning Sixth Man of the Year is a strong, reliable bucket-getter and an important part of Timberwolves culture.
He is averaging 14.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on 47.7 percent from the field this year.
It is somewhat surprising to hear that he might leave the team because he has been loyal to them since he first entered the league in 2019-20.
But the Timberwolves have experienced a few ups and downs this year, and maybe Reid feels now is the right time.
He has created a big name for himself, has wowed fans, and has earned one of the most coveted awards in the league.
Therefore, Reid might be smart to see what other teams are willing to offer him.
In the right environment, he wouldn’t have to be a sixth man anymore and could be a consistent part of a starting lineup.
