The Los Angeles Lakers were looking pretty good before they acquired Luka Doncic, but they have been on a roll since the blockbuster trade at the start of February.
As noted by Hoop Central on X, the Lakers are now 7-2 since landing Doncic in the biggest NBA trade of this generation.
Their latest win on Tuesday night against the Dallas Mavericks showed that the Lakers have a great thing going on their roster, and it’s not just Doncic who is performing well.

When Doncic landed in the lap of Los Angeles, a lot of people were hopeful for the long-term future of the team, but others were concerned.
That is because the Lakers had to give up iconic big man Anthony Davis to acquire Doncic, which severely hurt their defense.
Then they attempted to trade for Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams, but that deal fell apart.
Therefore, a lot of people felt the team would be explosive with its offense but lacking with its defense.
Instead, the team has been strong on both ends of the court.
Head coach JJ Redick has required that multiple players pick up the slack and fill the void left by Davis.
Meanwhile, he has let Doncic adjust to his new team and has slowly put more and more responsibility on his shoulders.
Fans have been reassured by the last few games, which have featured strong showings from Doncic, but not only Doncic.
Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, Jarred Vanderbilt, and, of course, LeBron James have all played very well and have shown that the Lakers won’t be a one-man team revolving around just Doncic.
The team has been doing spectacular things since Doncic came over, but he is not the only reason for their string of wins.
