The Phoenix Suns have been in tough shape for months, but it feels like things have gone from bad to worse lately.
The team has suffered a bad stretch of games, especially since the trade deadline when there were numerous rumors about Kevin Durant being traded.
According to Evan Sidery, the Suns have had the worst defense in the league over the past month, allowing 121.3 points per 100 possessions.
Additionally, they are 28th in NBA net rating.
Sidery summed it up perfectly, saying the team looks “completely checked out” since the Durant rumors emerged.
They may be checked out now, but is there any hope of them coming back?

The rumors about Durant leaving the Suns aren’t going away.
In fact, more speculation emerged over the weekend, and it seems very likely that the team and Durant will work together to find him a new NBA home by the time next season rolls around.
So, what happens until then?
Phoenix is 11th in the West with a 28-33 record and they have gone 2-8 in their last 10 games.
They often look like a mess on both ends of the court and body language suggests many players aren’t happy with the current state of things.
Some fans are just hoping for a quick and painless end to the season because they know big changes will happen in the summer, giving them the chance for a better and brighter 2025-26.
Every team needs a future to fight for, and right now the Suns’ future is very murky.
They may remain “checked out” for the rest of the year.
Because of that, fans may start focusing on the years ahead.
