Rivals250 WR Connor Salmin Talks Pledge to Clemson: ‘I knew it was home’

Class of 2026 four-star wide receiver Connor Salmin had no plans to make a commitment decision this weekend, however, after attending Clemson‘s Elite Retreat event, he knew it was the right program for him.

Salmin announced his pledge to the Tigers on Saturday night after a strong visit to Clemson.

“I was not planning to or expecting to commit this weekend,” Salmin told Rivals.com. “I just had a feeling and I knew it was home. Ever since my first visit to Clemson last June, it has felt like home.”

The Rivals250 wide receiver recently transferred to the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland after previously playing at Woodgrove High School in Purcellville, Virginia. He will play his college football in the state of South Carolina under head coach Dabo Swinney, offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Garrett Riley, offensive pass game coordinator/wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham and the rest of Clemson staff.

Salmin has visited Clemson multiple times now, but his latest trip was the one that sealed the deal for his commitment to the Tigers. While on the multi-day visit this past weekend, Salmin got to experience many aspects of what the program has to offer and he saw everything he needed to see to be comfortable with committing to the Tigers.

“This is my fourth time to Clemson,” Salmin said. “The camp visit last June and two game-day visits last fall (were the other three). This time, we came to watch practice on Friday, and then attended the Elite Retreat on Saturday. We did a lot — Friday I got to spend time with a lot of the coaches and staff, and then Saturday was filled with tours, presentations, meetings and practice. It was awesome!”
