Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith Announce Debut Album as Disiniblud, Unveil Single

Composers Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith have formed a new duo called Disiniblud. Today, they’ve announced the project’s self-titled debut album, which lands on July 18 via Smugglers Way. Two songs from the record, ‘It’s Change’ (featuring Willy Siegel, Katie Dey, and Julianna Barwick) and ‘Blue Rags, Raging Wind’ (featuring Amigone), are out today. Take a listen below.

Disiniblud is framed as a “wordless conversation” between Nayar and Keith, who met four years ago, revolving around mortality, reinvention through destruction, and embracing old wounds with childlike wonder. It also features contributions from Cassandra Croft, June McDoom, Aspidistrafly, and Noriko Tujiko.”The imagery [of the album] for me is like standing together in the abyss of our memory and reckoning with both the ineffable wonders and atrocities of our life experience, like we’re holding and protecting each other through that process and finding a way to take both the light and dark,” Keith shared.

“It’s not about healing and moving past the darkness,” Nayar clarified, with Keith adding: “It’s taking both with you in the satchel and carrying it with you everywhere you go… that’s the only way you can really metabolize it.”
