New York announced Tuesday that it signed the UConn goal to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Tung will report to the American Hockey League’s Hartford Wolf Pack on an amateur tryout for the remainder of this season.

The 21-year-old posted a 10-4-1 record, 2.01 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage while backstopping the Huskies to their first ever NCAA tournament.

The Port Moody, B.C. native stands six-foot-three and, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman during the most recent episode of the 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, had multiple teams vying for his services.

“He’s a really talented young goaltender. People were drooling about him,” Friedman said. “There are a bunch of NHL teams chasing after this guy, and the expectation is that he’s going to have an opportunity to go right away, and probably will.”
