The Arizona Diamondbacks and Marte are in agreement on a six-year, $116-million extension, according to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers.
Marte was already signed through 2028, so the deal is a restricting of his contract.
The extension begins this season and includes an $11.5-million player option for 2031.
Marte, 31, is coming off a career year in 2024, where he finished third in National League MVP voting, won the second base Silver Slugger and was named an all-star for the second time.
He slashed .292/.372/.560 with 36 home runs, 95 RBIs and seven stolen bases.
Through five games to begin the 2025 season, Marte is 6-for-22 with a pair of doubles and four walks.
An 11-year MLB veteran, Marte has spent the last nine seasons in Arizona after breaking into the big-leagues with the Seattle Mariners in 2015.
Over 1,109 career games, the star switch-hitter owns 143 homers and an .815 OPS.
Marte becomes just the latest Diamondbacks player to receive a long-term commitment from the organization, as Arizona extended Brandon Pfaadt, Justin Martinez and Geraldo Perdomo earlier this year.
