Yankees set MLB record for most home runs in first four games

The Bronx Bombers drilled two more home runs Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks, giving them 17 for the season already. That total set a new MLB record for most home runs in the first four games of a season. The 2006 Detroit Tigers (16) had the previous record.

Jasson Domínguez and Anthony Volpe homered for the Yankees Tuesday night. It was the third home run for Volpe, one of the Yankees using the innovative new torpedo bats.

In the three-game weekend series sweep of the Brewers, the Yankees hit 15 home runs, including nine in Saturday’s 20-9 victory. Aaron Judge (four), Jazz Chisholm Jr. (three) and Volpe have all gone deep at least three times already this season.

The Yankees led all of MLB with 237 home runs in 2024.
