Panthers’ Aleksander Barkov out vs. Maple Leafs

Barkov left Florida’s game against the Montreal Canadiens briefly, but ultimately returned in what was a 3-2 overtime loss.

It was unclear what caused the injury.

The 29-year-old is in the midst of another fantastic season for the Panthers. He has 19 goals and 67 points through 64 games while averaging over 20 minutes of ice time per night.

He joins a growing group of injured Panthers, as the team continues to be without Matthew Tkachuk and Aaron Ekblad as they fight the Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning for top spot in the Atlantic Division.

You can watch as Florida and Toronto duke it out on Wednesday on Sportsnet or Sportsnet+. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT.
