The 2024 Formula One season marked the end of Sergio Perez’s four-year tenure with Red Bull Racing.
His departure was largely due to performance issues, with Red Bull’s management growing frustrated by his inability to consistently match the exceptional form of teammate Max Verstappen.
Although Perez is absent from the grid in 2025, the 35-year-old remains optimistic about his future. He has made it clear he is considering all options, revealing that he has already received interest from multiple teams.
“If I find a project that motivates me fully to come back, where the team believe in me and where they appreciate my career, my experience and everything I can bring to a team, it would be very attractive to consider it,” Perez told the F1 website.
“That’s why I’ve given myself at least six months to get all my options on the table and make a decision on what I do next with my career.”
The Mexican driver went on to say that he has been approached by teams since his final race in Abu Dhabi and believes opportunities will “open up in the coming months.”
The growing interest in Perez, including reportedly from the newly formed Cadillac team, highlights his value to the sport. Cadillac, which plans to enter Formula One next season, could view the six-time grand prix winner as a seasoned driver capable of leading the team through its early years. His experience, marketability and strong racecraft make him an appealing prospect.
