Maple Leafs rule out McCabe, Kampf for next two games

Both players were on the ice for practice on Monday but will not travel with the team as they prepare to take on the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, Sportsnet’s Anna Dua reported Monday.

Both players suffered injuries during the team’s win over the Florida Panthers last week and have been ruled day-to-day.

McCabe was hit into the boards with just under two minutes left in the game and did not play the final 1:10 as the Leafs attempted to hold on to a 3-2 lead.

It was not made clear how Kampf suffered his injury.

McCabe has two goals and 23 points in 66 games this season while averaging a career-high 21:31 of ice time.

Kampf, 30, has recorded five goals and 13 points in 58 games, missing 12 games earlier this season due to a lower-body injury.

The Leafs have a four-point lead over the Lightning for top spot in the Atlantic Division, while the Panthers trail Toronto by six points.
