The past couple of days have been very active and positive for Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ QB Kyle Trask.
For starters, the Florida Gators, his alma mater, just beat the Houston Cougars in the national championship game.
More importantly, he just got married to his college sweetheart.
Getting married AND the Gators win the natty… Doesn’t get much better than that!

The Bucs gave Trask a one-year contract to stay with the team in the offseason.
They drafted him out of Florida late in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and while he hasn’t lived up to the hype from his college days, he has been a very serviceable backup.
He was a Heisman trophy finalist in 2020 after leading the nation in touchdown passes (43) and posting the second-most passing yards (4,283).
He backed up Tom Brady before serving the same role behind Baker Mayfield.
That’s why he’s barely been able to take the field so far, with just 32 offensive snaps to his name.
So far, he’s completed four of 11 passes for 28 yards, and he’s done most of his damage in the preseason.
Through 12 preseason appearances (three starts), he’s completed 158 of 254 passes (62.2%) for 1,671 passing yards, seven scores, and six picks.
He will now compete with Michael Pratt for the backup spot, but he should be in the lead there.
Even so, Mayfield is one of the toughest players in the league, and he’s proven that he’s not afraid to play through injury or put his body on the line to help his team, so playing time might continue to be scarce for the former Gator.
