One team that isn’t being talked about much heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, even though it needs a starting-level quarterback, is the Indianapolis Colts.
Over the past two seasons, the Colts have tried to make Anthony Richardson, the No. 4 pick in the 2023 draft, into their next franchise quarterback, but he has played poorly and had multiple injuries.
They brought in Daniel Jones, the New York Giants’ former QB1, this offseason, but they could look to this month’s draft for an upgrade at that position.
Per Mike Garafolo, Quinn Ewers, a signal-caller from the University of Texas, is visiting the Colts on Wednesday.
“Quinn Ewers is visiting the Colts today, another meeting between the Texas QB and the team’s personnel and coaching staffs,” Garafolo wrote.

Ewers is on that second tier of QB prospects this year beneath Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, and he could be someone who could become a legitimate starter if he finds himself in the right situation.
He is thought to be something of a project player and has yet to play well on a consistent basis, and at 6-foot-2 and 214 pounds, he doesn’t quite have the ideal size for the QB position at the NFL level.
He threw for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 65.8% of his pass attempts last season for the Longhorns.
Indianapolis went 8-9 last season and has made the playoffs just once since four-time Pro Bowl signal-caller Andrew Luck retired following the 2018 season.
They have a trio of viable wide receivers in Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs and Alec Pierce, and Jonathan Taylor, when healthy, continues to be a top-five running back in the NFL.
