The Detroit Lions lost much more than just a playoff game.
They also lost two coordinators this offseason, and that’s always difficult to recover from.
However, head coach Dan Campbell still has one of the most stacked rosters in the game, and the Lions will look to add even more firepower in the 2025 NFL Draft.
According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, they will host one of the best safety prospects in this class.
“Penn State second-team All-Big Ten safety Jaylen Reed (6-0, 209, 4.49 speed) visiting Lions. Recorded 98 tackles, three interceptions last season,” Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston wrote on X.

Reed was instrumental on the road to the CFP semifinals, logging eight total tackles and one sack against Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl before keeping things up with six tackles (including one for a loss) against Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl.
The Lions already have two elite safeties, Kerby Joseph, who was All-Pro last season, and Brian Branch, who made the Pro Bowl.
The Lions will be a hungry and determined team next season after the upset playoff loss to Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.
With that in mind, it makes sense that they leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of more talent across the roster, regardless of position.
