At the very least, Petro Gazz can rest assured that its stars are on the same page.
Star hitter Brooke Van Sickle. The versatile MJ Phillips. The relentless Jonah Sabete. The veteran Myla Pablo. Each one of them knows how important Thursday will be for the Angels, who will shoot for the PVL All-Filipino crown in a bid to nail the franchise’s first title without an import.
“We have to stay grounded and [in the] present and continue to focus,” Van Sickle said. “Even though we won [Game 1], there’s a lot of things that we need to work on and we only got a day [to prepare].”

MANILA, Philippines — Myla Pablo relished her comeback to PVL’s biggest stage but she wasn’t pleased with her performance after struggling with her minor calf injury in Game 1 of the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference best-of-three finals.
Pablo returned to the finals for the first time in three years, chipping 12 points. She was checked, especially in the last three sets.
Petro Gazz still recovered in the fifth with coach Koji Tsuzurabara making adjustments, inserting Aiza Maizo-Pontillas with Brooke Van Sickle and Jonah Sabete to take down Creamline, 25-17, 25-20, 18-25, 20-25, 15-10, on Tuesday night at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
MANILA, Philippines — For the fifth time in PVL history, Creamline and Petro Gazz collide in what is expected to be another classic best-of-three finals series for the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference supremacy.
The two teams have forged most finals duels between two volleyball clubs with Creamline moving a series closer to its ‘drive for five’ with its seventh consecutive finals appearance and Petro Gazz looking at another shot at what has been an elusive All-Filipino title.
The Cool Smashers are gunning for their 11th title and fifth consecutive All-Filipino — probably the sweetest and most challenging one after a six-month tournament. But standing in their way are the Angels, who are playing their best season together yet and have the strongest lineup to challenge the reigning dynasty.
