The 2024 NFL season was a huge letdown for the Dallas Cowboys as they failed to make the postseason despite a talented roster.
Injuries were the primary reason for the Cowboys’ downfall as several of their star players went down during the season.
The biggest hit was when quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a hamstring injury that required surgery and ended his season.
There was real optimism that Prescott had turned a corner after his strong finish to the 2023 NFL campaign, but he was unable to recapture that magic in 2024 before getting injured.
While the hamstring injury set back Prescott and Dallas, he is expected to be fully healthy once the 2025 NFL season kicks off.
In fact, Prescott recently sounded confident in his recovery timeline, saying he could play a game right now if he had to, via Bobby Kownack of NFL.com.
“If I had to play a game today, I definitely could do that,” Prescott said. “… I’m getting close to where I want to be, I don’t want to put a percentage on it. I know we’ve got team activities coming up, imagine myself being involved in some sort if not all.”
It’s encouraging to hear that Prescott feels like he can play, as that means he should be fully ready to go in the next few months.
The Cowboys obviously will manage their star quarterback carefully during offseason training activities and at camp, but all in all, it looks like the offense will have Prescott back at full capacity next season.
