MANILA, Philippines—Converge will enter the Holy Week break in high spirits after notching a dominant win over Blackwater in the PBA Philippine Cup at Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Sunday.

The FiberXers made easy work of the Bossing, 111-80, behind the efforts of sweet-shooting guard Schonny Winston.

Winston and Converge put a premium on entering the break with a win to increase the team’s morale heading forward.

“Coach (Franco Atienza) told us that we wanted to head into this break with a win for team morale and energy,” said Winston.

“This win will also give us some motivation and a lot of momentum heading into the next few games, especially with this break coming up.”

The La Salle product also sank two triples out of the squad’s 11–an improvement that he credited to the team’s preparation.

“We haven’t been shooting the three-ball well as a team in the past few games and our coaches told us that we can get a good-shooting game because we put in a lot of work to sink those threes and tonight it showed.”
