Saints Have Done ‘A Ton Of Homework’ On 1 QB Prospect

The New Orleans Saints appeared to be content to move forward with veteran quarterback Derek Carr, even though he has mostly played poorly in his two seasons with them.

But he has a shoulder injury that could require surgery, which means his status for the 2025 season is very much up in the air.

This has led to increased speculation that the Saints will take a quarterback with the No. 9 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.

While they have been linked to Shedeur Sanders, NFL insider Albert Breer recently revealed they have focused a lot of attention on another QB prospect.

“The Saints have done ‘a ton of homework’ on Ole Miss star QB Jaxson Dart, per Albert Breer,” Dov Kleiman wrote on X.

Last season, Dart threw for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns and completed 69.3 percent of his pass attempts with only six interceptions.

Dart seems to be an average prospect in terms of his athleticism and physical qualities, and though he may turn out to be a game manager in the NFL, he could end up being an excellent one.

New Orleans does need a lot more than a franchise quarterback to become competitive and return to the playoffs.

No one on the roster had more than 550 receiving yards last season, and it also needs plenty of help on defense, especially in terms of edge rushing and the secondary.
