Josh Hart Gets Honest About Knicks’ Offense After Loss To Pistons

The Detroit Pistons had a score to settle on Monday night, and that is exactly what they did.

They came into Madison Square Garden with a chip on their shoulders and walked away with a 100-94 win over the New York Knicks to even their opening round playoff series score to 1-1.

Following the game, Josh Hart talked about what went wrong with his team.

“It just derives from us playing slower. I think when we play fast, it’s tough for teams to keep up.” Hart said, via Knicks Video. “I just think we just played a little too slow. The thing about the playoffs, it’s never easy. Now we’ve got to watch film, learn, and grow from it.”

The tempo was not in New York’s favor all night.

From the very beginning, it was clear that the Pistons were going to try and dictate the speed of the game and keep the Knicks on their heels.

They did just that and the Knicks struggled throughout the game.

Even though they were playing at home, they just couldn’t keep up with the Pistons and their game plan and energy.

This was a good revenge game for the Pistons, and now they have stolen a road game, which is hugely important during the playoffs.

They return to Detroit with a lot of confidence and expectations, too.

Hart knows what his team did wrong, and that is a step to correcting it.

But the Pistons showed their die-hard spirit on Monday, and that will likely only grow stronger when they are back in Detroit.

So the problems the Knicks had may persist during the next game, which only hurts their chances.

Can New York shake it off and step up their speed and energy in Game 3?
