NFL Coach Compares Top WR Prospect To Justin Jefferson

The NFL is about to welcome one of the most unique and exciting prospects in recent history.

Colorado standout Travis Hunter is getting ready to turn pro, and whoever gets him will essentially get two players.

He made a name for himself for his ability to shut down opposing wide receivers, break up passes, force fumbles, and even pick off passes.

However, he was even more known for his ability to wreak havoc on offense.

Some scouts claimed that he would be better off playing cornerback because of his ball skills.

Then again, others claim that he has a sky-high potential if he plays wide receiver.

Notably, that includes an unnamed coach who told The Athletic that he could be as good as Justin Jefferson:

“Oh my God! He could be Justin Jefferson, but he can really play corner. It’s gonna be an interesting case study because we’ve never seen this,” an anonymous passing coordinator said of Travis Hunter.

Most people agree that Jefferson is the absolute best wide receiver in the league.

He’s in the top three at worst, so this is most definitely some high praise for the young standout.

Most big boards have the Cleveland Browns taking Hunter with the No. 2 selection.

He’s so athletic and talented that a team that needs a quarterback in the worst possible way might not even regret taking him instead of a signal-caller.

Hunter has made it loud and clear that he intends to play full time on both sides of the field in the pros, and that’s something we have never seen in modern history.

Chances are that he will have to settle for being a full-time player on offense and play sparingly on defense or vice versa.
