The Edmonton Oilers could be getting some veteran help on the blue line for Game 2 against the Los Angeles Kings.

The 32-year-old has played just 11 games for the Oilers this year after he signed with Edmonton in January, registering one goal and 11 points. He’s been sidelined with a lower-body injury and has dealt with hip issues in the past, for which he underwent surgery in 2023.

Knoblauch also declined to name a starting goalie for Game 2.

Stuart Skinner struggled in the series opener against the Kings, allowing six goals on 30 shots, including a game-winning stinker from Philip Danault with less than a minute remaining.

In 51 regular-season games, Skinner posted an .896 save percentage and 2.81 goals against average — his worst numbers in both categories since his rookie year.

Backup Calvin Pickard has played just three post-season games — all for the Oilers during last year’s run. He posted a .915 save percentage and 2.21 goals against average in that time.
