Trey Yesavage continued his early-season dominance on Friday with a 10-strikeout outing in which he allowed only one hit and two runs over 4.2 innings.
The 21-year-old right-hander threw four perfect innings before allowing a hit and walking two in the fifth. Reliever Jack Eshleman replaced Yesavage with the bases loaded and walked in two runs that were credited to the rookie starter.
Through four starts with the low-A Dunedin Blue Jays, Yesavage has pitched to a 3.12 ERA with 28 strikeouts and eight walks over 17.1 innings.
Yesavage also punched out 10 batters and was perfect through four in his previous start before unravelling with four hits and three earned runs in the fifth.
After being selected 20th overall, the East Carolina University product is currently listed as the Blue Jays’ No. 2 prospect by MLB pipeline.
