Things were tight between the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks as Game 3 of the NBA playoffs wound down on Thursday night.
But in the final minutes of the game, Brunson sealed the deal and gave the Knicks a 118-116 win to take a 2-1 series lead.
A video shared by New York Basketball on X showed Stephon Marbury reacting to the final minute of the game.
As Brunson opened up a seven-point lead, Marbury responded with pure joy.
“The Captain. The Lefty. The Lefty. The Hefty. The Hefty. The Hefty. Oh my. Oh my. Oh my. Oh my. It’s up. Up! He quiet the building down. Oh my. Oh my. Let’s go,” Marbury reacted to Brunson’s clutch basket in Game 3.

Brunson had 12 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, reminding everyone why he was recently named the NBA’s Clutch Player of the Year.
With just over a minute and a half left, the Knicks were only ahead by three points.
But then Brunson put up a layup from three feet, and then moments later, he scored another.
That gave the team a seven-point lead, but the Pistons came back and got as close as one point.
However, the Knicks were able to pull it out in the end, a huge win for a team with something to prove.
They have another game in Detroit before they head back to Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks would love to return to New York City with a 3-1 lead, but they know that won’t be easy.
They are fighting hard in this first round, and the Pistons will not let up.
This is when players like Brunson have to step up and lead, which is exactly what he did on Thursday.
The fans love what they are seeing from Brunson, and they want to see more of it in Game 4.
