Watch: Diamondbacks’ Eugenio Suarez makes history vs. Braves

Only 18 players in major league history had ever hit four home runs in a single game entering Saturday. Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez added his name to that list.

The Diamondbacks slugger victimized Braves pitcher Grant Holmes in the second, fourth and sixth innings, his sixth inning blast traveling 443 feet to center. While Suarez’s third homer provided a 6-2 lead for the Diamondbacks, the Braves rallied against Arizona’s bullpen to take a 7-6 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Enter Suarez. He stepped to the plate for the fourth time to lead off the inning and delivered, depositing Braves’ closer Raisel Iglesias’ 3-2 fastball into the seats in left for his fourth homer of the game.
