After throwing six scoreless innings with no walks and seven strikeouts against the Athletics, Jacob deGrom got a victory that was almost 800 days in the making.
After dealing with injuries that have severely limited deGrom’s innings over the past four seasons, he was able to claim his first win since the 2023 season.
While this was deGrom’s first win in six starts this year, he’s been good with a 2.73 ERA and 33 strikeouts to seven walks and 26 hits in 33 innings.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. If deGrom is able to return to anything close to his Cy Young form, he could be a key part of a rebound for the 2023 World Series champions that missed the playoffs entirely last year. With that being said, how many of the league leaders in K’s for both the American and National Leagues since the 2000 MLB season can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
