Rams Sign Wide Receiver Away From Eagles

Britain Covey’s social media farewell to Philadelphia Eagles fans signaled the conclusion of his time with the team.

The wide receiver and return specialist entered the offseason as a potential restricted free agent, and the Eagles declined to offer the tender that could have kept his services.

The decision allowed Covey to test the market without restrictions, ultimately leading to the Los Angeles Rams.

“The Rams announced they signed WR Britain Covey to a one-year deal. Covey spent the last three seasons with the Eagles,” Sarah Barshop of ESPN wrote on X.

Covey faced challenges last season with a neck injury in Week 13 that sent him to injured reserve.

Despite returning to practice before the Super Bowl, the Eagles did not activate him for their victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Prior to the injury, Covey made contributions beyond his primary role as a punt returner, catching seven passes for 34 yards on eight targets in his five games.

Covey joins a team featuring another Utah County product, Puka Nacua, who has emerged as a standout wide receiver for the Rams.

The 2025 season will present an intriguing storyline when Covey travels to Philadelphia for a road game against his former team.
