For years, the Golden State Warriors have been a powerhouse in the Western Conference, one of the best teams in the league.
They had their impressive battles with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals that have gone down as some of the best series of all time, continuing their success into the 2020s.
A lot of this success has been due to Steph Curry, who is already the greatest three-point shooter in NBA history, continuing to pile on to his statistics every game.
While the Warriors have a lot of history as a dominant organization in this league, they aren’t the same team as they once were.
Curry has gotten older, and he doesn’t have the supporting cast that he did when they were winning championships.
His current team is still solid, of course, as they just won Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals, but there isn’t a lot of leaguewide optimism that they have the firepower to win it all.
As Legion Hoops recently pointed out on X, the BetUSA sportsbook recently posted that the Warriors only have a 4.3% chance of winning the NBA Finals.

This number isn’t zero, and with eight teams still left in the hunt, anything can happen.
Jimmy Butler was a key addition for this team and has certainly had some big games, but he’ll need to turn up the energy to help Curry in clutch situations moving forward.
If they can get by the Minnesota Timberwolves, there’s no telling what this team is capable of down the stretch, knowing how strongly they have performed in the past.
