Tom Brady’s message to Shedeur Sanders over draft slide revealed

Tom Brady is the single best example of draft position not mattering for an NFL player, and the legendary quarterback says he has tried to remind Shedeur Sanders of that.

Sanders experienced the most stunning slide in NFL Draft history last month when he fell all the way to the fifth round before being taken by the Cleveland Browns. Brady was asked about that during an appearance on the latest episode of the “Impaulsive” podcast, which was released on Tuesday.

Brady, who is now a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, was quick to point out that he was not part of “any evaluation process” for Sanders as a player. He did, however, say that he sent the former Colorado quarterback a text message after the draft.

“I actually texted Shedeur because I know him very well,” Brady said. “I said, ‘Dude, whatever happens, wherever you go, that’s your first day.’ Day two matters more than the draft. I was No. 199, so who could speak on it better than me, what that really means? Use it as motivation. You’re gonna get your chances. Go take advantage of it.”
