The Golden State Warriors set the tone with an impressive road victory that did more than just give them an early series lead against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The victory completed an unprecedented sweep that has never happened before in NBA postseason history.

The stunning development follows Game 1 road victories by the Indiana Pacers against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Denver Nuggets against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the New York Knicks against the Boston Celtics.
Before this season, road teams winning three Game 1s in the second round had happened seven times.
The most recent occurrence came last year when the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Celtics, the Miami Heat edged the Knicks, and the Los Angeles Lakers topped the Warriors.
Only the Denver Nuggets managed to protect their home court against the Phoenix Suns.
The 2025 playoffs have broken another remarkable record. For the first time, three NBA teams with more than 60 regular-season wins all lost their opening game in the same playoff round.
The Thunder led the NBA with 68 wins, while the Cavaliers posted 64 victories and the Celtics finished with 61.
Despite that regular-season dominance, all three stumbled when the stakes were highest.
