BRADENTON, Fla. — One of the top prospects at IMG Academy isn’t quite close to ending the recruiting process.
Class of 2026 four-star offensive lineman G’nivre Carr holds more than 20 scholarship offers to his name, complete with a busy official visit schedule, but he is still taking his time with the decision-making part of the process.
In fact, even if the big blocker knows where he wants to be, it may not become public knowledge until the end of the year.
“I’m going to sign in December, maybe let it be known on December 26,” Carr told Rivals. “The school will know that I’m committed, but I want to take it all the way just in case. Who knows what can happen?
“And I don’t want to be the kid that commits, then decommits and goes somewhere else. I want to be locked in.”
The interior offensive line projection kicks off his official visit schedule this weekend at Colorado. He also has trips locked in for Florida (May 30), Alabama (June 6), Georgia (June 13) and Tennessee (June 20) at this time.
Of all the planned stops, the trip to Boulder will be the sole first impression he earns.
“I’ve got Colorado this weekend, I’ve never been up there,” Carr said. “I really want to see the change of scenery and see something new. I’ve never seen mountains before.
“I’m looking forward to meeting Coach Prime, I’m excited.”
The rising-senior recruit admits the time he has already spent on several campuses has played a large role in selecting the official visit destinations. The next step is to learn how much of a priority prospect he is on each recruiting board.
“I want to see how bad they really want me,” Carr said. “They’ll wine and dine me, so I want to see it.”
