Nikola Jokic Has Honest Admission About Poor Performance On Friday

The Denver Nuggets pulled off a 113-104 overtime win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night, earning a 2-1 lead in the series.

But Nikola Jokic wasn’t a huge part of his team’s victory.

Following the game, he talked to ESPN about how poorly he played and took full responsibility for his performance.

“Basically, I was the worst player on the court tonight,” said Jokic, the first player to go 0-of-10 from 3-point range and commit at least eight turnovers in any game, according to ESPN Research. “But we won the game, and that’s what’s most important.”

It was miss after miss for Jokic throughout the night.

He ended the evening with 20 points but shot just 8-of-25 from the floor, missing all of his 10 three-point attempts.

He also matched a playoff career high of eight turnovers.

This was not the version of Jokic that the Nuggets wanted to see, but they were able to fight on even without him playing like an MVP.

Jamal Murray produced 28 points, four rebounds, and eight assists, while Aaron Gordon posted 22, and Michael Porter Jr. put up 21.

The good news for Denver is that they still won even though Jokic wasn’t doing well.

This will give them even more hope about what’s ahead.

Right now, they feel there is a legitimate chance of them winning the series.

Just days ago, no one would have expected them to hold a lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder, especially when OKC had such a huge bounceback performance in Game 2.

But the Nuggets are competing at a high level and keeping their championship hopes alive, even with Jokic having troubles.
