England Women: Alex Greenwood, Georgia Stanway and Lauren Hemp return to squad for Nations League matches against Portugal and Spain | Football News

Alex Greenwood, Georgia Stanway and Lauren Hemp return to the latest England Women squad, while Lauren James misses out on the upcoming Nations League fixtures due to injury.

The key trio have returned from injury in a boost for Sarina Wiegman’s 27-player squad for the Nationals League clashes with Portugal at Wembley on Friday May 30, and the trip to Spain on Tuesday June 3.

One player England will be without is Lauren James, who isn’t included in the squad due to injury.

Ella Morris is the latest youngster to earn a senior call-up after impressing this season with Tottenham and England Women’s U23 side, while Brighton forward Michelle Agyemang retains her place in the squad and Aston Villa midfielder Missy Bo Kearns has earned a re-call.

On the squad, Wiegman said: “These are another two important games for us in a big year. Naturally we are preparing for the summer ahead.

“We saw in February that both Portugal and Spain will provide a big challenge and that excites us. These are the levels we need to compete against to make sure we are the best possible version of ourselves on 5 July when our EURO begins.

“At the same time, it is important that we focus first on what is right in front of us and ending the Nations League campaign in the best possible way.

“We have reflected upon two different performances against Belgium in April and although there were positives to take, there is more we want and need to improve on.”
