Dallas Mavericks fans didn’t expect much heading into the NBA lottery.

The No. 1 pick is an exciting prospect every year, but it means a lot more heading into the 2025 NBA Draft, as it represents the opportunity to transform the franchise.

Cooper Flagg is one of the most exciting prospects in the past two decades, and now, he’ll seemingly be a member of the Mavericks.

Flagg doesn’t just represent a strong on-court impact for the Mavericks, but the opportunity to make some serious cash for the organization.

As Adam Schefter pointed out on X, one executive from the NBA believes the presence of Flagg alone will net the Mavericks at least $500 million extra, with the chance of $1 billion in growth.

One NBA executive estimated privately in recent weeks that winning the draft lottery would be worth a minimum of $500 million and maybe up to $1 billion for one lucky franchise.

Luka Doncic was the face of the franchise, but he’s moved on, and it’s Flagg’s time to shine.

Nothing will be official until his name is announced on draft night, but Mavericks fans are already excited to see what will transpire over the next few months.

Having a player of Flagg’s caliber could work wonders for the Mavericks moving forward, hopefully lessening the sting of losing a bona fide superstar.

This team has been fantastic in years past, and with the combination of Flagg and Anthony Davis, there’s still a chance that they can get back to that place of excellence.
