MONTALBAN, Rizal—Rain or Shine dealt Magnolia its first defeat in the PBA Philippine Cup with a convincing showing that led to a 119-105 victory on Sunday at Ynares Center II here.
Santi Santillan produced 17 points and 13 rebounds while Adrian Nocum topscored with 20 as the Elasto Painters shook off a long break to take their fourth win in six games while ending the Hotshots’ unbeaten start in the all-Filipino tournament.

Felix Lemetti dropped seven of his 11 points in the first quarter that saw Rain or Shine take a 37-21 lead, forcing Magnolia to play catchup the rest of the way before a packed crowd of 8,175.
Rain or Shine forged a tie for fourth place with idle Barangay Ginebra, with another tough game on tap in Grand Slam-seeking TNT on Wednesday at the original Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
The Elasto Painters won before the presence of Gilas Pilipinas star Kai Sotto, who was with his B.League coach Ryuzo Anzai of the Koshigaya Alphas.
Anzai and Sotto recently dropped by Rain or Shine practice.

Magnolia remained on top of the standings at 6-1 despite the loss, but will need to clean things up in order to regain its bearings before returning to action on Saturday against NorthPort in Candon, Ilocos Sur.
Zavier Lucero finished with 17 points, six rebounds and three blocks for Magnolia after coming off an incident in which he was a recipient of a dangerous Cliff Hodge foul last Wednesday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
Hodge was later suspended one game and fined P100,000 by the league.
Hotshots assistant coach Mon Jose, meanwhile, served his own one-game ban in this game after he was seen giving Hodge a headbutt during the commotion.
