Aaron Gordon Urges NBA To Change Grueling Playoff Schedule

The postseason is over for Aaron Gordon and his Denver Nuggets, and now it is time for reflection about all they achieved and all they hope to do in 2025-26.

Speaking to the press, Gordon was honest about the harsh playoff schedule and how he’d like it to change in the future.

“I would really, really appreciate it if there were a couple of days in between games in the playoffs instead of every other day. The product of the game would be a lot better. Just give all these professional athletes one more day of rest, and you will see a higher level of basketball. Probably less blowouts,” Gordon said, according to Oh No He Didn’t on X.

Gordon isn’t the only one calling for this change, but the NBA may not listen.

Playing such intense games so frequently is tough for the players, and it can lead to physical harm and general fatigue.

According to Gordon, changing the frequency of the schedule would give fans better games because players would be healthier and able to perform harder.

He knows this very well because he was battling through an injury toward the tail end of this playoff run.

Many analysts have said the NBA needs to adjust the postseason schedule.

They feel that players aren’t given enough time off, and it’s hurting the game.

But the league likes how much they fill up the television schedule and the excitement this time of year generates.

So, will Gordon get his wish, or will the league continue to push its athletes to the limit at this time of year?
