Not long ago, the Los Angeles Rams were the team to beat in the NFL.
They traded away a plethora of future draft picks to build a Super Bowl contender, and it paid off.
However, unlike what happens with most teams, they have yet to suffer the consequences of mortgaging their future.
While they haven’t won another championship, they’ve remained competitive, for the most part, at least when they’ve been healthy.
That’s why, now that they’ve added wide receiver Davante Adams, and after watching what head coach Sean McVay has done, former NFL player Michael Brockers believes the Rams will be a serious challenger to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC this season.
“Sean McVay, his staff, they always draft really well. They kind of know what they’re doing, and, like I said earlier, they’re silently building a team. They added Davante Adams. Matthew Stafford still has it … arm is still there, mind is still sharp. So, I see the Rams being the biggest threat for the Philadelphia Eagles this year,” Brockers said, via NFL Network.

The Rams’ scouting department has done an outstanding job, constantly finding value and hidden gems late in the NFL Draft.
They even managed to make up for Aaron Donald’s production after his retirement, and while there’s no way to replace a player of his caliber, their defense has become solid without him.
In addition, McVay has proven to be one of the best head coaches in the game and already has his own coaching tree.
The Rams also have a Super Bowl-winning quarterback in Stafford, a legitimate star in wide receiver Puka Nacua, and are an experienced team that’s been there and done that.
Expectations are high, but the Rams have what it takes to live up to them.
