The Wests Tigers will reportedly discuss the option of releasing star playmaker Lachlan Galvin from the final year of his contract in 2026.
The Tigers dropped a bombshell last month when they announced Galvin had rejected a lucrative extension and would instead test the open market.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported the threats of legal action around bullying accusations had led the club to soften its intent to hold Galvin to his contract.

“It is a possibility the Tigers will demand a transfer fee from prospective clubs if they decide that it is in their best interest to release Galvin at the end of the season.”
The newspaper said the Tigers board would discuss their options at a meeting on Monday.
The Tigers are 10th on the NRL ladder and play the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Sunday.

The Parramatta Eels have been linked to Galvin, as have the ladder leading Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs – despite protestations from general manager Phil Gould.
“We are not involved in the Lachlan Galvin discussion and we won’t be involved in the Lachlan Galvin discussion,” Gould said.
