SEC, ACC programs still hot after Auburn WR commitment Denairius Gray

More than 16 months have come and gone since Denairius Gray came off the board with an early commitment to Auburn football.

The Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna standout wide receiver has continued to collect scholarship offers and increased interest from several other programs since, but the messaging coming from The Plains remains the same.

“It’s the same thing, they stay showing love,” Gray told Rivals. “They’re getting receivers, they’re working over there. It’s the same message that got me committed.

“They just reinforce it.”

Fellow South Florida native and AU wide receivers coach Marcus Davis has led the Tiger charge for Gray from the beginning. He remains a key factor in how long and steady the four-star has been with the program.

“Me and Coach Davis are locked in,” he said. “We’ve got a real good relationship. We talk all the time, real often.”

Still, Gray contends that a handful of programs remain in steady communication with him. Washington hosted him for an official visit in late April while Ole Miss and NC State are also likely to get him on campus.

The only date Gray mentioned, however, is a return to Auburn the weekend of June 13.

Florida, Missouri and Kentucky are also among the programs keeping tabs on the rising-senior recruit.

While a full summer schedule still appears to be determined, the top 100 prospect wrapped up his final spring season at state power CMHS, looking to defend yet another state title in 2025.

“Being here makes me a better player and person,” Gray said. “Even in the classroom, for sure. My catching, route-running and technique has gotten better.

“The little things really matter here.”
