The New York Knicks needed a big game from Karl-Anthony Towns on Sunday, and that is exactly what they got.
Towns posted 24 points and 15 rebounds as his Knicks overtook the Indiana Pacers and scored their first win of the Eastern Conference Finals.
According to NBA.com/Stats, that means that Towns is just the fourth Knick to record 20+ points and 15+ rebounds in a Conference Finals game.
He joins Dave DeBusschere, who did it four times, and Patrick Ewing and Willis Reed, who both did it twice.

Towns was fantastic during the game, and especially in the fourth quarter.
Towns crushed it in the final 12 minutes, earning 20 points and eight rebounds.
No one else on the court even came close to Towns, who helped make victory possible for his Knicks.
Towns has been a blessing for the team all season long.
When he was first traded to New York at the end of last summer, some people weren’t sure how well he’d work under head coach Tom Thibodeau and in a lineup alongside Jalen Brunson and others.
But Towns instantly became a crucial part of the Knicks and is now both a fan favorite and one of the most productive players.
He is earning his spot in the Knicks’ history, and their much-needed win on Sunday wouldn’t have been possible without him.
Even the most vocal and resistant critics have warmed up to Towns, and it’s clear that he will have a lot of supporters among this fan base moving forward.
He may have made Knicks history, but Towns’ work is far from over, and he has to keep it up in the days ahead.
They took home Game 3, but the Knicks need to fight just as hard in Game 4 if they wish to even the series.
