Julio Jones Has Honest Admission About Losing Super Bowl 51

Super Bowl 51 could go down as the most memorable Super Bowl in NFL history.

If not, it’s certainly a contender, as the New England Patriots completed a comeback that seemed impossible.

The Atlanta Falcons were cruising in the first half and into the third quarter, mounting an impressive 28-3 lead.

However, as NFL fans know all too well at this point, Tom Brady and his teammates took over from that point, clawing back into the game, where they eventually took the lead and won the big game.

This was an impressive feat by the Patriots, but it is a moment that will go down in infamy for Falcons fans.

The Falcons have never won a Super Bowl, and this was their chance to make their place in NFL history.

Many former and current players have talked about this devastating loss, including Julio Jones, who recently discussed his thoughts on a podcast, as ML Football shared on X.

“I had four opportunities the whole game. That’s insane. That is ridiclous. Four targets in the Super Bowl,” Jones said.

He noted that he wasn’t able to be very impactful in this game, given the fact that he only had four targets.

The Patriots had a strong defense that year, one of the best in the league, which made it difficult for Jones to get open and to have opportunities to help his team.

Even still, as he mentioned, it would have been worth a shot to give him more chances, but at this point, the past is in the past.

Jones and the Falcons couldn’t win it all that season, and unless things turn around soon, it could be several years before this organization has another chance to get their first ring.
