Kobalt signs global deal with Música Mexicana specialist K Music Publishing

Independent record label K Music has partnered with Kobalt to handle global publishing administration for all of K Music via K Music Publishing’s future output and select tracks in the company’s repertoire.

K Music, founded in 2019 by CEOs Alfredo Becerra & Leonardo Soto, and songwriter/producer Carlos Santos, is home to what’s described as a “new wave of global Música Mexicana hitmakers”.

The roster includes artists such as Luis R. Conriquez, Joel De La P, Tony Aguirre, and acts like Dinamicos Jrs, Novillos De La Sierra and Said Norzagaray.

K Music Publishing’s roster includes contemporary Mexican music stars like Luis R Conriquez, who the company noted has “consistently” ranked among Mexico’s Top 10 most-streamed artists on Spotify for over two years.

He’s claimed to have been the third Mexican artist ever to appear on the cover of Billboard, reached the Billboard Hot 100 with Si No Quieres No, and held the No.1 spot on Spotify Mexico’s Top 200 chart for over six consecutive months.

Meanwhile, Tony Aguirre has over 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify with hits such as Me Metí En El Ruedo, and Buenas Rachas.

Aguirre is also credited with playing a key role in launching artists like Luis R and Xavi, by collaborating with them in the early stages of their careers.

Most recently, he teamed up with Víctor García on a “refreshed” version of Ayer Te Pedí, which landed in YouTube’s Top 10 daily video charts.

The label’s lineup also includes legacy act Dinamicos Jrs, who the company says is “bridging generations through classic Música Mexicana and contemporary releases”.

It also features Joel de la P, a rising singer-songwriter who has worked on hits for Peso Pluma and Tito Double P. His breakout track, Dembow Bélico, co-written and performed with Luis R and Tito Double P.
