Nets Could Look To Make Blockbuster Trade This Offseason

This offseason could be one of the most chaotic and exciting in years, and it seems like multiple teams, including the Brooklyn Nets, will be very busy and making some major moves.

Writing for the New York Post, Brian Lewis summed up one of the maneuvers the Nets could pursue this summer.

“There is a sentiment around the league the Nets could look to land a second lottery pick by consolidating and packaging some combination of Johnson, those picks at the end of the first round and/or future draft capital,” Lewis wrote, via NBACentral.

Johnson has been on the radar of several NBA teams over the last few years.

Last season, the 29-year-old forward averaged 18.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists on 47.5 percent from the field.

Many people think he could be the future of the Nets.

The problem is, the Nets aren’t sure what their future is.

They are in a rebuilding phase right now, which means they are willing to trade away just about anyone in order to craft a brighter future.

That future could be very promising if they play their cards right.

That might mean they ship away Johnson to get a better draft pick.

It could create some short-term pain for the Nets but may pave the path for something great in the years ahead.

The fact that Johnson has been in many trade rumors lately means this rumor could be legitimate.

The Nets are obviously comfortable with the concept of losing Johnson for the right price.

With one of the most exciting trades in recent memory right around the corner, another draft pick could be exactly what the Nets need.
