The New England Patriots find themselves dealing with an unexpected situation just two months after signing Stefon Diggs to his substantial $69 million contract.
A video surfacing on social media has created early controversy for the star receiver, showing him on a boat with several women while appearing to handle a bag of an unknown substance.
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the situation during Wednesday’s media session, confirming the team’s awareness of the circulating footage.
“It’s something that we’re aware of,” Vrabel told reporters. “Obviously, we want to make great decisions on and off the field. We’re hoping that with our time here on the field today, that when we don’t have a script and we’re on the call periods, that we’re making great decisions. The message will be the same for all our players, that we’re trying to make great decisions. Any conversations that I’ve had with Stefon will remain between him, I and the club.”

The connection between Diggs and Cardi B gained attention after they were spotted leaving the Met Gala together earlier this year.
The pair also shared courtside seats during a playoff matchup between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
For Diggs and the Patriots organization, this situation presents an early test of how they’ll handle off-field distractions.
The receiver’s transition to New England was expected to focus on football, but this development adds an unwanted layer of scrutiny to his tenure with the franchise.
